Lady Decibelle – Artist Bio
Producer and DJ Lady Decibelle has been living and breathing music from an early age.
Her close family and relatives include DJs, event promoters and an operatic tenor. With an upbringing underscored by sounds as diverse as Frank Sinatra, Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds and golden age hip-hop. Having started dance studies at just four years old, it’s clear that her life story is inseparable from her soundtrack. What sets Lady Decibelle aside is the emotional hook – communicating and sharing it, and always spreading the love. It’s no surprise that her focus in life is health – working both as a carer and mental health advocate. All roads lead towards delivering positivity and uplifting the people around her. Ever since falling in love with jungle and DNB, she’s been on a mission to inspire that feeling in others. Despite being someone who would rather not be the center of attention, her background makes her a natural born selecta, as anyone who’s caught one of her storming sets on Rough Tempo, Code Red, Stacked Out or Kool London will surely testify. Intriguingly, she credits vocalists and MCs the same as producers and DJs for her junglist inspiration. The vibes created by the likes of General Levy, Marvellous Cain, Nicky Blackmarket, Det, Fearless and never-to-be-forgotten Skibadee are as much a part of her blueprint as the technical skills of Heist, Monroe and Chase & Status – Decibelle is truly an artist carving her own path. Over the next few years, as she builds progressively towards prestigious sets while moving forwards with her own productions, it’s clearly obvious that the central mission will never change – it’s all about community, sharing joy and rising upwards, working together for one common cause – the love of music.
